If your application was declined you can check your appeal status online. Just enter your ID and phone number on the official portal and confirm with a PIN.
Your status will show as one of the following
- Pending – Application is still under review
- Approved – Your grant is approved and payment date will follow
- Declined – Application not successful with a reason given
- Identity Verification Failed – ID details did not match
- Self Exclusion Found – Income above R624 or already receiving another grant

What is the Difference Between R350 and R370
Previously the grant amount was R350 but in 2026 it has been increased to R370. If you search for R350 status check online it is now updated to R370 status check.
Eligibility for SRD R370 Grant 2026
To qualify for the grant applicants must
- Be unemployed or earn less than R624 per month
- Be a South African citizen refugee or asylum seeker with valid documents
- Be between 18 and 60 years old
- Be the primary breadwinner in the household
- Not be receiving other government financial support such as UIF or NSFAS
